Hi there!

I’m Jennifer Passariello, and you have stumbled upon Circa 19xx Land, my little corner of the World Wide Web.  This is where all of my favorite things come together:  reading, writing, antiquing, road trips, house museums, and gardens.  What I’ve tried to create here is a place in which to escape the uglier aspects of the modern world and explore an idealized version of the past.  Don’t get me wrong; if I were given a choice of eras in which to live, I would choose ours.  Despite our troubles, we live the best lives of any people throughout history.  But there are fine things in our past that deserve to be treasured, and that’s what I feature in Circa 19xx Land.  For more about me, keep scrolling…

First and foremost, I’m a prayerful person.  I rarely make a move without praying about it, and I complain to God on a daily basis about a variety of things.  (He probably wishes I was less prayerful.)  Anyway, my faith informs all of my decisions, including those pertaining to Circa 19xx Land.

In real life I lead a global learning & development team for a travel technology company.  I’ve been in the training and development field for over 25 years (yikes!).  My passion within that field is instructional design.  Before all of that, I spent a short time as a high school English teacher.  Before that, I was in banking and retail and a bunch of other stuff.

Olive, my Maltese, is my sidekick.  She enjoys playing soccer, arranging my shoes, barking at golf carts, and unraveling spools of ribbon.  Turn offs:  heating vents, baths (really grooming in any form) and her vet, Dr. Cupp.

I enjoy reading, writing, road trips, antiquing (naturally), making jewelry (when I’m in the mood), all things graphic design and experience design, and spending time with my six nieces and nephews. Oh, and Disney World.  I go there at least once a year, and when I’m not there, I’m wishing I was!

I live in Kansas City, Missouri, which, in my opinion, is the finest city in the world.

Hi!  It’s me, Jennifer.  I don’t know how you’ve found my tiny corner of the Internet, but I’m sure glad you’re here!  Hey, since you’ve stopped by, why not tune into Circa Sunday Night?  It’s an obscure little show, and pretty mediocre as podcasts go, but it can cure insomnia like nobody’s business.

Olive makes occasional appearances in Circa 19xx Land.  Here she is at home watching for golf carts while I’m on the laptop writing a blog post. We all have our role to play.
