This is a really beautiful card. Not only does the scene appeal to me, the condition is very good. The colors are muted, but rich, and the picture is very clear. I have a few these types of “English countryside” cards, and while I love the scenes, the clarity of the pictures varies widely. This is a very nice one.
Lorna Doone: More than a shortbread cookie? Yes. She is the fictional heroine of the historical romance, Lorna Doone (1869) by R. D. Blackmore. Apparently based on true events, the story was set here, in Exmoor, England. While Lorna herself was not a real person, other characters in the novel were.
