The November Vintage Give-Away Drawings are coming to a close, and I’m sorry to see them go. It was fun to have a new excuse to go shopping, and even better to connect in a new way with the Circa 19xx subscribers!
Of all the give-aways this month, I think this last one is my favorite. Like some of the other prizes, I purchased this one at the St. Joseph Auction and Antique Market last month. When I saw it, it stopped me in my tracks because, in all my travels, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I kept on walking, though, because I wasn’t sure if it would have broad appeal. I couldn’t get it out of mind, and revisited it a couple of times before just deciding, “Heck with it! I’m going for it!” It’s been on the table in my breakfast nook ever since, and I’ve looked at it every day. Sigh. I just love it. Now comes the hard part: giving it away.
The prize is an old framed cat print. This picture is quite old, and there is some slight damage around the edge of the mat–but it is only slight, and that wouldn’t stop me from hanging it. The mat is hand painted and has these wonderful inlaid ribbons at the sides. The frame itself is newer, and showcases the picture very well. It is really beautiful. I could see it as part of a grouping of old framed mirrors. It would be perfect in a child’s room. But frankly, I don’t have kids, and I still have half a notion to hang it in my own bathroom!
So, the winner is…
I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for the Circa 19xx subscribers. For their support I am truly thankful.
